My insurance company will give sizable discount if I have this fitted

Tracker Retrieve seems to be £299 from my Porsche dealer
Tracker Monitor is £499.

Does anyone have experience? Which do you recommend?

We had a moniter version fitted by Tracker themselves. on reflection we would have chosen our OPC, as currently (as i type this) the engineer from tracker is rewiring ours as it did not pick up the movement of the car when she recently had to go on a low loader! No one alerted us that the car was on the move, which we had thought was the whole point!!
As to which one, we live by the coast and felt the extra was worth it as someone could get to a ferry port with her on a lowloader and we would not know until returning home, so we felt the monitor version which is suposed to tell tracker if the car is moved without the key in the ignition, if the distance is more than 3 miles(i think) or the time moved is more than 3 minutes continoius travel.
However, something we dont feel they make clear when selling you the package, the G P S on the monitor version is maually activated by tracker if when they contact you to inform you the car is on the move if you tell them it should not be and therefore is presumed stolen, it does not moniter your car all the time and it is not activated by the motion censor either.
Everyone circumstances are different for these and insurance companies vary.
The tracker man has finished now and has rewired it to the hopefully the correct way, the tracker was apparently working but the motion censor was not. what can you do???[]

Thanks for the guidance.

Will speak to Tesco - and see if they will cover without Tracker. If they insist, think I will go for Monitor fitted by my local dealer - the wonderful Glenvarigill.

Tesco do in our experience insist on a tracker, we are insured with them and it was part of their policy, there is an insurance thread on the forum somwhere about companies who insist and those that dont, could well be on on Marks suggested links.
Be carefull with upgrades with Tesco though, we informed them that we had changed the air filter and because it can possibly increase the performance by a tiny amount they want to add £150 to the policy!!! allan had since spoken with Direct Line and i think he is planning to change over to them.

A note on the insurance,

Tescos insurance is provided by Direct line and is all underwritten by RBS

I think, It's always worth haggling over the price

Hi I am a new member as I've just bought my first Porsche.
My company sells and installs both Tracker and Rac Trackstar, for many of the main dealers and retail customers. So I've the choice between the two and I've fitted the Rac Trackstar.
There are many reasons why the Rac Trackstar is the better long term option.
Main me if you want any more info.
