Trackway Insurance Cover

Hi all
It is twenty years now since I last did a trackday, so I am a little rusty in knowing the procedure. The trackday was given to me as a Christmas present and is at Cadwell Park. The problem is that my normal comprehensive car insurance company will not give me cover for one trackday. My question is what should I expect to pay for insuring my Porsche for this one trackday? Any opinions would be much appreciated.
Regards

Hi John,

i contacted a lot lot of individual trackday providers last year. Average quote I received was around £300 with 10% vehicle value excess. As I dug into the t&c's further, also found out that labour charge was only covered up to £50 per hour, so should the worst happen I'd not be able to use an OPC and likely future warranty would be invalid.

Make sure you get all the details and hope you get sorted. Definitely
worth trying one of the specialists for annual cover, maybe even for this one-off. A refund minus admin charge of your current cover and taking out a new annual policy may still work out cheaper than separate cover (and will not be anywhere near as limited in coverage).

With my ClassicLine insurance, trackdays organised by recognised organisers (e.g. PCGB) are included, and IIRC organised by "non recognised" organisations is £50 per day, excess jumps to £1k. For the 968 cab I pay about £220pa for fully comp, 2 named drivers (both over 60 with full clean licences and no claims in past 15 years), 5k miles pa, includes full EU breakdown and recovery, must be second car, does not earn NCB.

if your only paying £220 you don't need NCB

Every little helps![:D][:D] Have had my 968 with Classicline for quite a few years now, (touch wood) have not had a claim so can't somment on that, but agreed value and insurance write-off options are good, as is breakdown/recovery included. The shopping trolley (2008 MB S204 C220Cdi Elegance) costs more!
