Hi,

Only a couple of weeks into Boxster ownership now, and this morning was the first time driving in slippy conditions, here in sunny Basildon, Essex, UK.

Well the traction control kicked in a few times and I was quite impressed.

I understand that the traction control applies the brakes to the spinning wheel, but does it cut power to the engine as well?

It did feel like it was doing, but maybe that was just a trick of my mind??

Cheers,

Jules

Traction control is a combination of ABD (Automatic Brake Differential) and ASR (Anti-Slip Control System). ABD will apply brake to the spinning wheel up to 62mph and ASR will intervene to reduce engine power (even above 62mph).

Of course, PSM and PASM are far more comprehensive systems.
