Hi All

Another transfer box problem. luckily it will be repaired by Porsche under warranty.

Symptoms are when the car is fully warm in traffic or from standing start bumpy 1-2-3 gear changes when pulling away. Turning in tight circles also less than smooth.

The advice I read on here helped me work out that I had a problem.

cheers

Hi I've got a 2015 Macan Diesel S with 55k miles and noticed that it had started skipping a bit when setting off, so I've had the oil changed in the transfer case and the problem has gone away. I now plan to change the oil every 20k by my local independent, for around £60 it's well worth it. I've also had the ATF changed at 40k. As a Land Rover owner I know that gearboxes and transfer cases need to be serviced at regular intervals and the "sealed for life" recommendation should be disregarded. It's disappointing that the manufacturer should ignore such basic maintenance, but then they benefit from the out of warranty repairs.

I think I may have the same problem on my 4 year old Macan S Diesel. I have recently had it serviced but I don't think they did anything with the PDK oil.

Hi Mike, unfortunately the automatic gearbox and transfer case fluids are not on the service schedule and you will need to arrange for them to be changed. You might just find that fresh transfer case oil cures the problem, as it has done for me.
