Transmission emergency run

It came up again, not used the car in 2 weeks and this appeared in the messages. Couldn't select reverse.

Switched off the engine and fired up again, all absolutely back to normal.

This has occurred intermittently since the car was new and invariably after car standing for a while. It also used to happen I seem to recall with the 997 gen 1 I had before it!

I figure it may be due to a slight drop in current!

Anybody shed any light?

TIA

Nick

Thanks for the replies and the link, it seems I am not alone in this. I did previously have the problem when we were in Epernay last May on a driving holiday. I took the car to Chester Porsche on my return. They put the car on diagnosis and concluded that although there had been a fault reported in the cars deep memory it was now absolutely fine. I did buy a Porsche battery conditioner at the time but, and I'm ashamed to admit it, I hadn't even opened the box!

It's now in position and hopefully will keep the electrics up to speed.

I have it in the back of my mind that there was a software update for the PDK control unit. It might be worth asking the OPC about that.

Edit: Found what I was thinking of: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/30579-obc-message-emergency-transmission-run/page__view__findpost__p__162133
