transmission/gearbox question

ive noticed by car now clunks a bit win i first touch the accelerator in some gears and it jumps forward. ive fitted a throtle response cam and dont know if this makes it snatchy. the rear and whines quite a bit now but the sound goes away when the clutch pedal is depressed. any ideas if this is going to be a big expensive job?

The only experience I have of this was with a non-Porsche car. The whining that disapeared when the clutch was depressed was caused by a worn out Thrust Bearing. It was an easier car to work on and the cost was minimised by doing it myself.[:(]
I hope that your' s is an easy/cheap fix

We have a member at Essex with a bit of a clunck, it has been looked at by a specialist who has diagnosed clutch problems and recommeded a clutch transplant at the earliest opportunity.

I can' t see that a throttle responce cam should make any difference .

Just spoke to my local specialist Porschtech and the said it sound like the universal joint. Its booked in on the 5th Sept so fingers crossed or its on ebay soon :)

I do love it but am getting fustrated by Vauxhal Vectra V6' s Beating me in a straight line
