Transmission slip ? Clunking ?

My Cayenne Turbo has proven to have an occasional slip / clunk from the transmission when accelerating. Even though the dealer has checked the car, they could find nothing wrong.

After a long drive on Monday, the problem was apparent, so I drove to the dealer and managed to get a drive with a technician.

He felt / heard the problem from the passenger seat .. 'Thank goodness'. Not that I want a problem with the my car, but I just know it is not right.

He said that there had been problems with 'power transfer boxes'. Does this mean anything to anyone please ?

Sorry for delay in contributing -( broadband fault !)
Transfer box problems appear as a ' common ' issue in many Cayennes - symptoms are indicated by a clunking noise when moving through gears and a sluggish response. Solution is often "not cheap" and requires replacement unit to fix properly.
Naturally a Porsche Centre's costs are higher but a more secure guarantee of a lasting solution. Allow about £2k ( parts + labour) via this route. Other Specialists may offer a "Contract Price" solution, using second hand parts, thus being cheaper.
Whatever - not a 'quick' repair - nor good news - sadly

Thank you for the reply.

The car has now been rectified under warranty.

A happy ending .
