Our run up to the Middlesbrough transporter bridge will be on Saturday 22nd October. We will be meeting up at Specialist Cars of Malton from 10.30 aiming to leave at 11.00. The route will take in fun roads with a stop in Stokesley before heading on to Middlesbrough to cross the bridge. The route will then head back down and stop for a late lunch at the Red Lion (subject to booking availability) on Blakey Ridge.

The bridge costs £1.30 per vehicle for the crossing and lunch should be very reasonable.

There is a footy game kicking off at Middlesbrough but I have been advised by those in the know that this shouldn't affect us.

Just in case you don't know what it looks like here it is:

Mark, as a season ticket holder at Boro we could do with the extra support if you fancy stopping off at the Riverside[:D]

Seriously, we're playing Derby that day with a 3pm kick off so you should beat the traffic if you're leaving Malton at 11am, it may be an idea to cross the transporter bridge from the Haverton Hill (North side) into Middlesbrough that way you'll be going against any match day traffic.

Enjoy the trip

Thanks Ashely, I have a fellow season ticket holder in my office and he has assured me that since they are pretty rubbish these days the turn out is a lot lower so we shouldn't see any fall out. If you see a fat balding bloke that looks like he as a days freedom pass that will be him [:D]

Hi Mark
Last time I was on this bridge was 1964 12 years old I walked over the top my legs had a bit of a wobble on I recall,
I hope its not to windy they have a wind speed limit
May come down to see you off, seeing we do not live too far away any idea time you may arrive at the bridge

Graham, I haven't worked out the specifics, but will be doing so in the next day or so and will let you know.

John and I will hopefully join in - never been to the Transporter Bridge before - always thought it was in Arizona

Hi Mark

Many thanks to you and Carol for a really good day out. Dee and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
