Tried to prevent the window motors burning out.......

Going away in the 944 shortly so I thought I`d improve mmwwwwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrr and the meeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr groaning and moaning as the windows go up and down and so to endeavour to head off a burnt out relay or motor.

Removed door card, speakers et al (loads of self tappers), coppergreased the slides and wheels, oiled the wheels for good measure, oiled the cross frame pivot, vaselined as best I could the window runners/guides within the door and in the window itself and hey presto....................................






no difference whatsoever...........................................






so I have to assume its always like that. It clearly puts a strain on the motor on the way up.

Ho hum, off to do the other side now.

My window motor on the drivers side packed in completely last week so i took it apart stripped it down and greased it. Also did the runners et al with some spray grease as you describe. Its positively olympic standard now and attempts to throw the window over the other side of the car!![]
