trim material

ORIGINAL: ashonen

hi

Does anyone know if the Porsche logo seat trim is still available

Talk to Southbound, if they don't have it then it's not available. I have logo seats, so please let me know if it's rarer than hen's teeth as that'll make my seats worth more than my pension....[&:]

My guess is that it might be unavailable in some colours. If it is then your options are retrim in leather or look out for a used interior (or part thereof) in the same colour logo cloth and worst case cannibalise it.

Good point - I was assuming black, in which case it was common as muck in Luxes. I've seen the odd blue logo, were there any other colours?

This was what I was thinking of (from a random car on eBay)

There was logo in all the oval dash colours available, so, linen, burgundy, marine blue, cobalt blue, black and classic grey. There might have been beige as well; I have a beige pinstripe non-sport seat in the garage (for driving game use) which I think is oval dash era but isn't linen and there could have been a logo equivalent.

I like logo, it's hard wearing and doesn't look "living in the 80's" like pinstripe and Studio.

edited to say: That's linen in the picture ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I really should have remembered that was called Linen [:)]. I'm off to hang my head in shame (I'd forgotten about the burgundy too, but didn't know there were two different blues, perhaps we ought to have a 944 interior colour/pattern thread).

Logo in classic grey in my 1991 S2.

what's wrong with it looking 80's? my car is from the 80's.
My car is also from the 80's, and wears its pinstripe linen interior with pride, I'll have you know!

(The CD player still plays 80's tunes remarkably often too. And I'm not averse to red braces and overly-flowery shirts either. The 80's rocked!)

Just got a price from southbound as below

Porsche logo cloth black 2CZ original is available @ £ 135-50 per mtr ( 1-3 mtr wide ) Plus vat / p & p
tad above my pocket money [:D]

I did the most important part of my growing up in the 80s and as such have powerful nostalgia for the era, but there are aspects of it that are not remembered fondly and even rose-tinted glasses can't overcome that. Velour is high on that list. It's not the stripes of pinstripe that are evil, it's the fabric. [:'(]

£135 per metre?

Whoosh!

1-3m wide? Does it vary?

i just did the cut and past thing and thats what i thought when i first read it but he uses the same - for his dot in £135-50 strange how the brain does not mind that but when it comes to measurements it thinks hang on that not right [:D]

I took it to be 1m wide is £135 a metre and 3 m wide is dearer, but with hindsight I suspect it's £135.50 a metre and it's 1.3m wide.

How very odd Fen. I had you down as a fairly well-adjusted individual. And now you come on here declaring velour as being "Evil".

If it wasn't improper, I'd be enquiring about your childhood ...

Bah, logo is horrible ! I love my pinstripe dark blue and white stripe seats, and what's wrong with it looking 80's? my car is from the 80's.

Pinstripe rocks.

i once had had a pinstripe suite but i wouldn't wear it now even if i could button the trousers up [:)]

So ... 1x1.3m, and it costs £135.50p.

£104.23p per sq. metre.

That's got to equal the costs of land in some areas ...
