Ok, I am used to Porsche's ability to put controls in the maddest of places, but the 944 seemed pretty straight forward until now. I have looked high and low pressed everything I can find and I am at a loss!

Where is the reset for the trip count???? I have ordered a manual but it hasn't arrived yet.

Well that did the trick thank you very much.

Who would have guessed that must eclipse all the silly controls in old 911s. I think I could have stared at that for years before working it out.

fooled me too, until i asked on here - got a barrage of abuse for being a "Newbie", you seem tohave got off lightly!
but, why doesnt it work when you are moving? maybe best not to ask....
it also doesnt seem to work if the ignition is off

It will work when moving but that may well be the last time it does as the plastic gears will most probably strip their teeth.

was fiddling with mine, on the motorwaay today - thats when i found it out didnt work when moving (im still talking abot the trip).
just checked it and its survived, but thanks for the warning!

When you discover the 3 speed wipers (+interval) you will be on the way to anorakdom ;)

Funniest one I know was guy who borrowed my headlamp washer relay because his had never worked since he got it a couple of years previously, Did not work on his odd I thought mine work and the look on his face when I pushed the wiper stalk was priceless

The previous owner of mine didn't know that the car even had headlight washers until I tested them when I test-drove it ...

Oh, and what's so hard to find about the three-speed (and intermittant) windscreen wipers?

Oli.

I had my car for a couple of years and had only expected 2 speeds so only pushed the stalk up twice, when browsing the manual I noticed it had 3 went out and tried and yep 3 speeds - mentioned it on a forum and a few others admitted not knowing about it. Usually every time it comes up (every 4 years or so) someone else will admit to not knowing. Probably will become less common as more cars have more speeds now.

It does amaze me that my 89 S2 cabrio has just about every mod con a new car has (and it all still works, even the clock).

However, I am assuming there is a "lights on warning buzzer"? I have left it several times with side lights left on, should there be a warning buzzer, which just isnt working, or didnt they have them?
