Trolley Jack Adapter

I saw an advert in GT Purely Porsche some time back for an adpater to fit the jacking point on a Porsche, it was a Tweeks product, I have tried to get a catalogue from them with no joy and cannot find the item on their web site, anybody have one of these or knows where they can be bought, preferably U.K.

Cheers!

Helen - Bet even 007 doesn' t have one of these gadgets!

All I could find was a jacking plate (fits in jacking point) on the first site that I tried
http://www.design911.co.uk/index.htm, under Accesories & Gifts. Of course, I could have misunderstood what you meant !

Weird site, mind you, as it appears to flicker a lot for a few seconds - always assuming IE6 is not having a turn !

dear dai-lemma. whats it for? and would it look cool with the gas mask, rocket launchers and ejector button, the boxsters getting a bit heafty now and my fuel consumption is appalling!!

Quite right, the adapter has a rubber washer that allows the standard jacking point to be used without damaging the paint

Nic

the standard jack pushes up on the jacking point,
where the adapter is a bar extending the jacking point and lifting the car like a leaverwhich can twist the jacking point/sill

Thanks, I can see your point, however, the adaptor I had seen was not an extension but replaced the lifting ' rose' on the trolley jack so that it seated properly in the jacking point.

Cheers

Why not use the easy/cheap option and just place a piece of cloth folded several times between the jack and the jacking point under the car - works for me.

Oooooohhhh Errrrrrrr! sounds a bit risky to me, I like to know something fits together properly, visions of it sliding off into the garage wall or dropping onto the disc. Boo hoo and OPC saying that' ll do nicely sir!!

You may have miss understood me - the reason for using a piece of cloth is so that it follows the form of the male part of the jack into the female part of the jacking point, therefore removing any risk of the it sliding off.
The basic function of the cloth is to avoid the potential damage caused by metal on metal contact.
