Trolley Jack Position?

Where should I position a trolley jack to jack up my Boxster? (I want to take the wheels off to clean the protective wax off the inside). Incidentally, any tips on the best stuff to use to remove the wax would be appreciated.

I drive onto a block of 4x2 wood to raise the car a few inches to get the trolley under the car, then i use another peice of wood on the trolley swivel and jack up using the proper boxster jacking points.
If you want to use axle stands you have to raise the car a fair bit.
PS. If you jack the back up first keep an eye on the front end coz it sneaks up at the same time [;)]

Brake dust is sticking to it and it making the wheels look filthy. I figure if I can get it off and use something like zymol on them, it'll make them look better and easier to clean in future.

Thanks for advice on trolley jacks btw. I've used a block on the swivel before on other cars but wasn't sure where to put the jack itself. Raising the car first is a top tip.

Ah...........the wheels have wax on them !
Sorry, I read your post wrong [:D]

Maybe a strongish ally wheel cleaner will remove it with a stiff wheel cleaning brush ??

You can get a special plate that locks onto your jacking point and then you simply place your trolley jack under it & jack it up. Unless you have a very low-start jack you will need to raise the car a couple of inches firts (block of wood as previously suggested). I got my plate from 911design

Thanks, that would save me messing about with wooden blocks to go between the jack and the jacking point.
