Thinking of what to have for Christmas ! as if that's not difficult owning a 964!

Thought you folks might be interested to know, CostCo are selling Clarke's 1.25 tonne aluminium trolley jack for £67 including vat, currently retailing on machine mart for £94. Excellent quality and value! bought mine today [;)]
It has extra low saddle height (80mm) ideal for that low suspension!

Glad to see that you're getting in the DIY frame of mind Paul [:)]. I also bought a Clarke Jack but went for a 2 ton jobbie to ensure it had the oomph to lift all of the car at the rear when placed under the engine. It's not as low as yours but still low enough to get under my lowered car easily.

The Jack and 2 x 3 ton axle stands, including delivery cost £55 from Machine Mart on-line [;)]

Good to hear from you Steve. I was thinking of you guys (lowered 964's) when posting. My car ain't been lowered yet and with the standard trolly jack, i still had to remove the steel saddle and place a 1/2" thick piece of wood in its place to protect the jacking point, in order to get the jack under the car. With the clarke style jack there's no need, obviously.

That's on my Xmas list too;when I have to work in my garage,it's vertical handle arrangement is a lot more convenient than my existing trolley jack with a horizontal removeable handle.

very nice.. I managed to get one a while ago from a clearout at work.. its rated to 5 tons (I work in the construction equip. industry so we have big toys [:D] ) and it has two castors on the front rather than a single bar across so the saddle goes really low; I think about 80mm which is about the height of the castors.. grand total of £25 but I had to borrow a mates van to get it home!..

I also managed to get a bar with it which replaces the standard saddle and is extendable.. This kind of sits horizontally with two pads on it so you can lift in two points at once, like under two sides of a subframe on my mates project mini, where its been living ever since!

I think these bars are also available for the clarke ones, very useful if you need to get two wheels off or do driveshafts or something.. also great for lifting the car onto axle stands without using 2 trolley jacks
