trouble getting into 5 gear

New member
after having a new gear lever/stick [ as mine had pinion wear] fitted,,,i am taking her back in as i am finding it hard to get into 5 gear without a lot of force,,
she had a gearbox rebuild and a clutch 10k miles ago and gear change,,up and down is perfect in every other gear but it feels like i am hitting a wall when i try to go into 5th gear,,
there is no clutch slip and sometimes she goes in quite easily,,thought it was the new gear lever settling in.
any ideas/diagnosis much appreciated,,,thanks jp
 
Sounds like its the rear gear linkage, in particular the cross bar from the rear linkage to the transmission, along with its rubber gromet mounts, which may have failed.
