Rear shafts need to be removed, easy job just bolt in.You cannot get the old split type that were available for the beetle. Might be worth checking with motor factor as new type of gaiter available that slips over joint(uses cone device to spread gaiter to get on, have seen in garages as universal fitment) saves breaking joint apart. Not sure how good they are, but if you take apart at least you can clean and regrease all parts.
Bearings adjustable, split collar on outside , use allen key to unclamp , adjust and reclamp. Same as old Beetles(there's a surprise)
Exhaustis a big one , if leaving heat exchangers in place then not too bad, bolts WILL be rusty assume you will cut off and grind out. If heat exchangers need changing you could have stud breaking in head, common. look at impactbumpers.com and search for thread on exhaust change good write up available with advice
Good Luck
