I went to buy some cam cover bolts off Ebay, they where £15 each so I went to Porsche Cardiff they were £6 each. Some Folk think just because its for a Porsche that they can charge big bucks.

My Advise to all Porsche Owners is to contact your local Porsche Centre for Prices of Parts and Repairs18 months ago I had a problem with the Oil Cooler on my Porsche 996 and took it to a Porsche specialist in Lincolnshire
Oil cooler was 180.00. Fitting nearly 1000.00 (Including 100.00 worth of Coolant and a few parts) [3 1/2hours away]
Had a coolant leak from the top of the engine that looked like the cooler and Porsche Chester who had supplied the cooler said that if the cooler was FAULTY they would repair it free of charge (VERY IMPRESSED)
Had already taken it to the Incredible New Porsche Centre in Wolverhampton and paid 85.00 for a check
They where not sure what it was
However if the OIl Cooler was not under warranty it would cost me 405.00 FITTED!!!!!!
So why did it cost me so much at the Porsche Specialist
Porsche have a policy of ensuring that their old cars are serviced and have prices to match both on parts and labourAS it turned out it was the pipe going INTO the Oil Cooler that had been TWISTED when the oil cooler had been fitted in Lincolnshire
So I am even more annoyedSo Even if you don't use them they should be able to give you a price Porsche Wolverhampton even delivered the car back to me in Shrewsbury to make sure the job was done properly (It did blow another pipe on the way home after picking it up before BUT they recovered it for me)Very impressed with both Porsche Wolverhampton and ChesterI believe that with these special prices you may have to wait till free time in the workshop
Thanks to David, Avril Rossie and all at Porsche Wolverhampton sure you local OPC will offer the same
