Trying to trace previous owners of my car...

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and Porsche ownership. I have a 996 C2 manual with 2 previous owners but very little in the way of receipts and 'history'. The service book is stamped but that's pretty much all I have. It makes me uncomfortable!

I'm looking for Martin Ferguson and/or Colin Wafer, both up in the north east. Newcastle and Leeds. The car may have been on N33 SAW for a period of time. I have addresses so I might go old fashioned and just write them letters...

Hopefully someone can help me, please?

Welcome Chris!

There was a Paul Wafer who used to post on the 996 forum a few years ago. His username was pwafer So you could do a search to see if he is still registered. I seem to recall his car was silver, and he fitted HID lights.

Do you have any info on MB04 KXS? That is the current and I believe original plate.

I look forward to meeting a few of you soon, I must try and get myself to a meet this summer.

hello Chris

i had a similar situation a few years back and ended up contacting the dealer where the car was serviced. I then emailed them the log book and they then posted me a complete print off of the service history it was quiet easy as only one dealer had serviced it but it was great to get all the information as part of the history I would recomed doing this to complete the history.

Thanks for the tips. I have traced the addresses and have sent letters. The plate was N33 CAW not SAW (makes sense with him being called colin....durp!)
I have spoken to the very helpful people at Porsche UK headquarters and confirmed that it has had the recalls done (no idea what they are though).
Fingers crossed I get some replies from my letters.

I used snail mail to get in touch with my previous owner - then supplied my email address and we have been in contact since. I suppose some previous owners might just ignore your request - but I have found most are keen to reminisce !
