Tuning 981/991 Models - Cobb Accessport

I've had a chat with Neil at Litchfield about Cobb tuning for the 981 and 991 normally aspirated range. They have not had any customers yet, which is not surprising since Cobb only released their product a few months ago. Using the Cobb Accessport and their Maha dyno, Lichfield would develop a tune for a particular car and configuration (standard, or with upgraded exhaust and intake components). I guess that once they have completed enough examples they would build a standard library of tunes but would test customers' cars on their dyno.

I would guess that tuning a Powerkit 991 3.8L engine this way might not be too easy because of the complexity of the multi-flap plenum but it should not be that difficult for standard 3.4L or 3.8L engines.

Litchfield have tuned some 991 turbos so the OBD upgrade route for this generation of ECU is not unproven.

They are keen to start on the 981/991 normally aspirated models so perhaps early birds will get a preferential deal.

So finally after a little over two years since launch, 981 owners have two options for putting more power into the capable 981 chassis, this Cobb/Litchfield route and the Cargraphics/Ehresmann packages which are discussed in another post in this section.

I've had my 991 Turbo S tuned by Litchfield and together with their titanium exhaust and 200 cell cats has made very good gains north of 600hp, though IC holding it back now. Will post a new thread in the next week or so.
