Turbo 17" wheels

I was always led to believe that the dog-leg type 17" turbo alloys wouldnt fit my 1986 lux model, however on ebay there is a car of similar year and spec(item 330285609196)that has these wheels fitted.
I have cup ones fitted at the moment and wonder if somebody can confirm if the other type would fit mine.
cheers!

You should be able to get a set to fit, it depends on the offset and what hubs you have fitted, I believe the hubs changed in 1986 so you may have the older type hub or the newer ones, the easy way to check is to see what the offsets on the cups you have fitted at the moment are, if they are in the 20's (not sure of the exact number) then you have the older hubs which in effect sit further inboard compared to the newer hubs which if you have those your present cups should have an offset in the 50's.

Look on the rear of the cups you have now there will be some numbers with an ET next to them, I'm sure its around the 23mm or the 55mm depending on the fitting.

Hope this makes sense? I had this headache a few months ago when I fitted Cup 3's to mine.

Do you have ABS on your car - that was the point at which the new offsets and so on arrived?

I think it was also the point that the front lower arms moved from being fabricated steel to cast aluminium parts.

What are the offsets on your 17" Cups and could I please have first refusal?[;)]

1986 model year cars share their 23mm offset with series once cars. 1987 model year cars, built from September 1986, have the later 53mm offset.

The cup one wheels that I have fitted were taken off a 1983 old dash model originally if this defines the hubs on my car. Oh and these include spacers fitted aswell.

As a rule of thumb if you have spacers of more than about 5mm then you have early hubs. If the spacers in question here are circa 30-35mm then you could just use them with the other wheels as the Cups will be later offset also, but if the Cups are replicas for early offset then you won't be able to do that.
