As it says guys. Mine is leaking at the seam. How much, part number, alternatives?

Still at garage and missed OPC parts, closed at 4pm. Don't have access to PET here.

Cheers

im on holiday but if i return and your not sorted by then i will have a look at mine and see if i can figure anything out from the part numbers ect

JMG tried to reseal mine but it didn’t work and i found it to leak so bought this replacement

Thanks Dan. For info I went for a Bosch part that will need me to slightly modify the connections. £47 from Autodoc. Their part no. is 0 392 020 024, water pump, parking heater. Believe this is a Merc part.

OPC wanted £467 + vat, tidy mark up there on a spade connector!

looks like the plug for that is a Junior timer plug, you can buy those as a kit cheap as chips, and it will do a nice clean finish job

This is not quite right on arrival. There are 2 raised splines on the outside of the pump connector which the plug doesn't fit over. I could just cut it to suit I suppose and it will probably slide on and be fine. Not sure exactly what connector is the correct one. Had a quick google but didn't get anywhere.

You can get the genuine connectors and terminals from Porsche - I ordered the connectors for my wing mirrors some time ago and don't recall them being expensive. I think the metal pins were pennies. There is a whole section in PET showing all the connectors.

Can’t remember if I cut down the splines on the pump or cut off the plug and used spade connectors - can confirm later this week when I get my car back.

Thanks.

Looks like I can probably just cut off the flat bit from the junior timer plug that goes over the splines and it should still click in and be held by the clip no bother. I decided to wait until with my mate at the garage before I started chopping it to make sure that's the best plan! Worst comes to the worst 2 insulated spade connectors attached to the loom would suffice but would be nice to use the plug.

Incidentally does anyone know if the original pump/wires are marked + and -? Or what colour is what? The new pump connector has this marked on it.

I'm amazed that this new £47 Bosch pump is absolutely identical bar the connector and Porsche want over £500 for it. Well, not really amazed actually lol but it is an utterly ridiculous mark up!!

Looking at it you could probably also remove the base of both pumps with the connectors on and swap them round. Just held on by lock tabs by the look of it. Bit of soldering probably all that's needed. I shan't bother with that idea though, much simpler to alter the loom a tad and look tidy enough!

Cheers

When my Turbo aux pump failed, I ordered the alternative (Mercedes?). With the vast saving, cutting the old connector off and fitting a new mini timer plug or whatever to the loom was a no brainer to me. It looks factory, unlike the rest of the engine bay.
