Turbo Bell Housing

Can the bell housing be removed without removing the reference sensor bracket? Currently I'm struggling to remove the shaft for the clutch fork but I was hoping to leave the sensor bracket in situ, is this possible?

I don't think it can, unless the bell housing has been modfied at the ref sensor bracket.

As i spent last night removing the reference sensor bracket I can confirm that it needs to come off to remove the bellhousing.

If you cut the bridge on the bellhousing that is between the sensors then it will slide off next time. Doesn't help you now though [:(]

Cheers guys. it does wiggle very easily at the top of the bell housing so I wonder if it may be modified already now if only I could get the bloody clutch fork shaft out. I think I might have to buy an alignment tool as well as I have a feeling my universal one is too big to go through the bell housing.

Frustrated with two evenings of no success I purchased a new tool today and it did the job.

With the shaft cleaned up it looks like I need to spend more money.

Have you got new bearings for the clutch fork? Worth doing I think.
The reference sensor bracket desìgn is a pain isn't it...

I think the wear is all on one side usually you can get away with rotating the shaft 180 degrees, that does look a bit deeper than mine did though!

I've ordered a new shaft and needle bearings from ECP, if I find anything worn in the path of my clutch change its getting replaced [:)] I couldn't believe how much play was in my old short shift kit, I did take a video of it but I couldn't get it to upload to a hosting site.
