A friend is looking at a turbo cab 2007. BUT mileage 33900mls operating hours 2100. I'm suspicious of the mileage, any thoughts?

Sounds very low to me unless it was only used in traffic.
How does all the other mileage evidence stack up?

Can you get a readout of the distance travelled on the DME? This should be slightly lower than the mileage on the odometer, that's the best way to check. If the DME figure is higher, then it's been clocked.

Very early history not present. MOT's seem to concur mileage from 3 years old. 111 point check revealed engine hours but no comment. Not sure if DME reading was supplied, I'll check.
Edit add:
DME reading not provided

Very early history not present? Lost service book or other?
Ask them for a DME distance readout. It'll be in KM. Convert the odometer reading to KM and compare. That's the best test.

Mine was registered dec 2007 and I have the same mileage as this car. No idea what my operational hours are though.

[:D]

In feb I bought a one owner 997 S2

Miles 33,450 with full service paperwork

Had it checked prior to purchase and miles / time / rev bands ok

Its taken me a while to feel that mine is not made of glass

I have a speed of 32 miles per hours
A average of 21.7 to the gal
Does not drink oil
No puffs on start
Gearbox 1 2 3 up
321 down fine

I admit to being bonkers during the first 2 weeks of ownership

Now it becomes Doris

Dont worry

The low mileage is not something that would concern me if the source of the car is credible. [I didn't see what was removed from the posts so I am not referring to that]. I bought my 2006 turbo last year with only 11,000 miles, from an OPC. They do the history & mileage checks before they put their approval / warranty on the car. So I trusted in that. They also did work that was necessary on such a low mileage car, which delayed the delivery. New front pads and discs because they had been sitting too long. New tyres all round after they discovered that whilst the tyres were in perfect condition, they had aged out.

So far so good with it and 2 years warranty whilst I give it a shake down. I could have got a car cheaper outside the OPC network but I wasn't up for considering that.

Just to be clear - when I said that's very low, I meant mileage/hours driven = 16mph average speed for the life of the car. That is on the bottom of the believable scale.

I know for a fact an OPC has bought then sold a clocked car (presumably unknowingly) and know an OPC that has also sold a car that has been totally pancaked on track and rebuilt by a non approved body shop only to deny all knowledge later.

Caveat emptor

That just simple maths, divide the millage by operating hours and you should have a figure between 30- 55 depending on round town driving or motorway driving. Anything Lee would suggest that the Speedo has been changed.
