Turbo Cab numbers...?

Does anyone have any information on the number of 944 Turbo Cabs made?:

All together (LHD + RHD)
RHD only
Number of RHD remaining

Having just bought one I've read somewhere that approx 100 were made in RHD... is this correct. I'm hoping it will hold it's value pretty well if there's not too many about.

I always thought that there were 100 turbo cabs made in RHD, as for LHD no idea, but I am sure someone will be along soon that can help.

Not that it's a reliable source to quote, but I've seen three advertised for sale recently and all three adverts said that they were one of only a hundred examples.

Wikipedia has a list of production run numbers for all 944 models, but the Turbo Cabriolet is the one model they aren't certain on! It was only made in 1991. They quote the total number of Turbos made in '91 as 875 worldwide, including cabs. They then say that a different source claims only 525 were made, with 255 of those leaving Germany. If you assume that the cabriolets make up the discrepancy there, then that means 150 Turbo cabs were built, and we've no idea how many of those ended up RHD. Just speculation, but it might be a start?

I can't tell you how many are on the Register database, as for some reason there is no seperate mention of coupe or cab...[]

I can tell you we have 12 Silver Roses in the Club. But that isn't much help....[&:]

they were originally supposed to be a special edition model with total 500 made (both RHD and LHD) with supposedly 100 being RHD. Peter Morgan's book original 924/944/968 is supposed to be authoratitive and says that in fact 625 were made, but doesn't break it down between RHD and LHD. Mine's a guards red example and its still a brilliant car.

Made a note that yours is a cab. Must get you together with John Barnatt,'s red cab at next year's Frontrunners?

Or, should we try to get all the Turbo cabs together at Ragley Hall?

You may not have mine as I bought the S first and registered it via my members details. Is there a way to add a second car? I've always wondered. Don't tell me, it's staring me in the face, I wouldn't be a bit surprised [8D]

Young master Neil... force must you use to second car register......[&:]

Or, call the Club office and a willing staffer will deal with it. Angie is currently dealing with membership, which should include car details I think. [8|]

Have been in touch with Technical Publishing at Porsche Cars GB and am advised that a total of 102 RHD turbo cabs were officially imported into the UK.

There may of course have been other RHD cars made that have subsequently made their way here but I know of no way to check this.

Edit: Porsche Germany advise that a total of 528 turbo cabs were built (both RH and LD drive)
