Turbo Chips

In these theme, I have a spare Motronic unit that contains a modified chip. I would like to open it to see what brand/make it is but wary of bending the tags (ten in total) in case they break. The tags are part of the zinc sheet cover and fold down over the aluminium base. I can see slight marks on the aluminium where a 5 mm wide screwdriver tip was used as a lever and on the tags, some of the oxide coating has come away at the point where they bent when it was opened to insert the modified chip.
Am I being too cautious?

Bill

Anyone know off hand when the DME & KLR Chips went from solder to push in fit on the Turbo variant cars, as i am looking at a set of authority "push in" chips for my 86 turbo.
Anyone had experience of Authority products good or bad ?
Cheers Jim.

Yes, about 10 years ago.
Those chips are old fasioned and their AFR is way too rich.
I have used self made chips which are based on Guru maps.
