Does anyone know if these are still available new? my oil leak which I thought was the output seals is actually a fractured cooler pipe [:(]

Must be the season for these to go. Mine bust whilst the car was with Augment having a few changes and remapping. Their decision is to manufacture piping to fit to a 'general' oil cooler which I did not question. I read into their decision that original coolers are either not available or are very expensive. Gets to a point where you question looking at used parts since these are now 25 or so years old.

Best of luck sorting it out,
Mick

Original ones are about £400 still available .......could you get yours welded I have seen repairs done by JMG

£400 for a bit of pipe with cooling fins [:(] and Porsche want us to keep them on the road certainly not helping, try the breakers.

Mine started leaking like a sieve a few months ago. The plan was to give the cooler to an alloy fabricator and have them weld it. But I was very lucky - on removal it turned out the pipe was ok, leak was due to the clamp being badly worn (the clamp that holds the cooler to the side of the box, rear was fine). A £2 clamp was ordered from Porsche Germany and all sorted. Bone dry ever since.

So it's perhaps worth double checking that it is the cooler itself that is damaged before spending loads of money on repairing/replacing the cooler.

Good luck.

Oh its definitely broken, I can flex it and see the fracture. Its not near the clamp or bracket either, I spent two hours removing the bracket and cleaning it up plus a coat of paint before finding out what a genuine cooler pipe will cost [:(]

With these you can replace original oil cooler with some universal one. It's a oem style fitting / AN-adapter

I designed these years ago and friend fabricated few sets for me. His company might have some pairs available; have to ask from him.

I have seen these and will probably end up buying a set and using a universal cooler. They are not cheap though at £63.00 [:-] (thats on design911's website)

I also wonder if I couldn't just cut off the originals and slide pipe over the ends secured with a jubilee clip.

Design911 sells my friend's company's products. You might get them cheaper directly from Finland.

His site list them as N/A but drop him a line, i suppose he can fabricate them quickly if needed.
