Turbo gearbox oil cooler mount

Greetings all, can anyone advise where the oil cooler pipe is mounted onto the back of the gearbox. There is a rubber sleeve on the pipe but the bracket is long gone. Have ordered the other parts and was wondering where they fit into? Anyone got a pic of their car???

If I've got this right then the pipe with the 'o' ring just inserts into the gearbox housing.

There is a forked bracket that fits over the pipe and bears onto a shoulder on the pipe and is held by one bolt that goes into the gearbox housing at each end of the pipe. Tightening up the bolt draws the bracket closer to the housing which pulls the pipe into the hole in the housing, ensuring there is enough pressure on the O ring to make the seal.

Sounds like you need the little forked brackets and the bolts.

From a look at the parts catalogue the little forked brackets are the same each end of the cooler pipe:

Part No: 016 301 161, Diagram Reference 34, Page no: 123 in the .pdf catalogue I've got.

The bolts are different each end:

Washer (back end): N 011 524 2
Bolt (Back End): N 011 346 5

No washer at front end, but the bolt is: N 014 715 3

I have a leak somewhere around my oil cooler so I've bought new bolts (from Exeter OPC) but I haven't actually taken the assembly apart yet.

Check the catalogue to see the way that they mount - I downloaded mine from porschepart I think.

Hope this helps,

Eddy

That first part number has shown up as a phone number - its actually the part number but looks like a UK phone number apparently.

If this helped, let us know how you get on - this is a job I need to do so any tips would be great.

Cheers,

Eddy
