Hello

A pal of mine has a 997.2 turbo and is disappointed by the exhaust note. can any of you guys recommend a good option that will give it a better sound without being to loud all the time for example on the motorway. I have a PSE on my 996 (none turbo) which is perfect.

Any recomendations woukd be helpful thanks Phil

The 996 PSE was one of the best examples of a sports exhaust upgrade. Significantly improves the quality and character of the 996 and an OE option or retro-fit, so no warranty issues, and maintains originality.

However there is no OE option for the 997 Turbo. I had long discussions with Porsche about this and they felt that they couldn't offer anything of significant benefit. There are lots of aftermarket options that make it louder, and my OPC would have fitted one had I supplied, but they didn't recommend any and had several customers who had spent big money on systems but were never really satisfied. It's very much the nature of the Turbo engine.

Phil
suggest he googles "Sharkwerks " and has a look at what they offer on the website , may be of interest
regards

I have a cargraphic loud with 200 cell cats on my Gen 1 Turbo its awesome ,they also offer a gen 2 turbo system

I've got the sharkwerks system on my gen2 and its fine. Noise when you want it but no drone on the motorway. The boys at ABP motorsport in cheshire fitted mine and they were great to deal with.
