Turbo new tyres

I am sure its been covered before but what do current turbo drivers favour as new tyres

Mine are needing replacing now (10k miles) and have been 305x40 ZR19 102y pirelli p zero rosso's on the front and 235x35 ZR19 87y on the front fitted from new.

So do I stick with the Pirelli or change to something else like a Michelin and in which case which one?

Any feedback appreciated

I just went from Bridgestones to Michelin PS2 and it's a vast improvement all round.

Mine came with Michelin so have no experience of other makes, but they would have to be brilliant to beat the Michelin pilot sport. When they do let go its progressive, fantastic tyre but agree bl**dy expensive [8|]

I have just bought PS2 all round now via the OPC dealer of all places and am having them fitted while the sickly turbo is fixed. I was offered a price which seemed initially lower than I thought it would be (expecting silly money), did some market testing on line with the discounted places and my local supplier that does the other car and said to the dealer you are expensive and shared with him the quotes. They beat the lowest by £50 and are doing the work. Looks like business is getting tougher for OPC's.

I plan to keep the Pirellis as they have no damage on them, they have between 2 and 3 mm tread for track days for me if I ever do one or maybe for sale on e bay for similar use by others.

I got a set of PS2s for about £960 (fitted) in Sept last year. Have they gone up or down since then?

Mine were £1000 incl vat etc etc fitted so I paid slightly more, no doubt you can always get cheaper somewhere but convenience and your own time also then play a part. At least I got £250 off by haggling

Paid £450 for pair of fronts just before Christmas, the rears will be £620 any time soon. The new ones don't look much different from the worn out ones [:D] But boy do they grip [;)]

I kept the old set on Pirellis with about 2-3mm tread on if anyone interested, make me an offer. Ideal for a track set, no damage at all and even wear. I might e bay next week.

I'm gutted to say I bought a set of rear Bridgestones when they had the short supply in the UK from the OPC []
I ended up paying £700 for a set of rears, but being as no one in the UK had any I had very little option as the rears were to canvas after 12K miles

Still happy with them in all conditions and the rim protector I find invaluable for our Turbo wheels []
