Turbo oil/water sender connections.

Having difficulty in re-connecting the senders at the back of the block. I am guessing it is sensible to reconnect the water sender before the oil pressure sender, trouble is, I'm really struggling to just reconnect it "" I dread to think what it would be like to replace! Is there a standard procedure? Remove water pipes and distributor first, or would this not actually make it any easier? Access from above or below? Please don't say take the engine back out!

Any suggestions gratefully received.

It can be done, just bl***y awkward. I have done it in situ. Youmight have been better off reading my article about the head gasket replacement on the turbo first, you would have gained some insight, i.e, with the head resting on a hard wooden block make the rear connections before fitting the head to the block, it is so much easier, control line pipe etc.
If you have a 1/4 drive socket set, it is the work of a few minutes to undo the two thermo-time-switch bolts, which have a 10 mm head (careful, they can sieze in the aluminium casting) and get better acces to the connections. Refit with new gasket and coppaslip in the threads and bolt holes.

Thanks,

Knowing that it can be done in situ means I won't give up quite so easily next weekend! Did you work from above or below?

Reading your article would have been a good idea and probably still is, when and where was it?

Thanks again,
