BOUGHT TURBO :)))))

Well I have done the deed and purchased a 1987 White Turbo with a rather nice can can red leather interior ( possible not ideal for selling on but what the hell ).
The car has great paint work but is desperate for a service. There is a little clicking noise when the clutch is depressed and it would appear the fan is constantly on and sounds reasonably loud ( any ideas what may be causing both ).
Already looking to make it more powerful and have seen this on ebay from porscheshop http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_944_engine_induction.html
Anybody got one and any opinions on them.

Cheers Simon

Congratulations Simon [8D] We look forward to seeing pictures when you can stop driving the thing.

I wouldn't bother with any bolt on thingies (especially a filter) until you've had the car serviced and the niggles sorted out. Once its running 100% and your happy with it (and used to it), then may be the time to look at enhancing it. It's plenty of car to go round as standard [:)]

Welcome to what is probably the best car you could buy for the money. As Paul says get the niggles sorted & the servicing to a level you are happy with, then there is plenty of good advice here about improvements.

Well done and looking forward to hearing all about your ups (there will be plenty) and hopefully not too many downs of 944 and 944 turbo ownership. I agree with previous sentiments though - get a damn good service done and if you can't track the last timing belt change with abosolute certainty (boh miles since - every 40k miles - and time since - 4yrs) then get it done anyway then just drive the car and get to know it before diving too head-long into mods. I've been driving mine for nearly three years now ironing out those little niggly things and have only recently indulged in a mod that gives me significant power gains. I feel I really know every inch of the car intimately, now i've got a plan for futher mods which i'll roll out as the budget allows! If you're not careful you can get too much into the mods and playing with the car and forget to drive and enjoy the thing!
