Turbo rads/condensors

Hi guys
Firstly sorry to be a bit stupid, what are the things that are right behind the front grilles are they the rads or the air con condensors? Also when the rads are changed (mine need doing i am told) do you usually get the condensors done as well and are there 3 radiators and a condensor each side too?

Cheers all
P.S went to the Zuffenhausen factory tour few weeks back and museum.. Totally awesome go if you get the chance... Got right up to a new 991 S before being told off!! Nice looking 911 and hate to admit it but the interior quality is a good step up from my 997....

We will be at the museum in May [:)] hopefully the factory tour too...

Either side is both a radiator for cooling backed against an aircon condensor
I've had quite a few changed over the years and they have only ever changed the one that needed doing, the centre one has also been replaced in the last 6 months...
Worth the warranty renewal alone!!

Hi Ben,

Don't worry about putting out questions. There is always plenty of help available - this is one of the big advantages of PCGB. Also, there may be plenty of others who want the information but were afraid to ask.

Here's a photo of a Gen 2 TT front with the bumper removed. There are 5 rads. here. 2 each side and 1 central.

Thanks again for all your help...
So to confirm there are 2 rads each side and the centre rad? - where do the air con condensors sit? Main reason I am asking is I have found a place that sells OEM rads (Hella Behr) for nearly half the price of ones from Porsche and a friend of a friend is an ex Porsche engineer....just wanting to know what I should get!! The website is Advanced Radiators if anybody cares...
I would love to clean them out properly myself but I am a little bit ham fisted!!

Cheers Gary and Clive

Ben,

Here's a picture of a couple of replaced AC condensers fitted to a 996 - but the game's the same!

Clive.

thanks Clive...
So the AC condensors are the things that sit just behind the front grilles and the rads sit behind them?
So at worst it would be 3 rads and 2 condensors?

cheers

Depends on whether it's coolant leakage or defective aircon that's your problem. [;)]

But these are the "usual suspects" when talking about rad. problems.

Remove the PU as per the link above and you'll soon see what's needed. [:(]

Good luck.

Clive.
