Turbo right wing sticker: Yes or No ?

My car should be ready in the next month after what can only be described as extensive work and a lot of the queens pounds spent. It's a grey 1986 951 with the Tele dial rims, ive reverted back to the orange indicators replacing the clear. Now was there a set model year when the TURBO script was started to be put on the drivers (UK car) front wing? Was this a no cost option and what's the views on it generally?

Thks as always

Ian

Turbo S standard and deletion was a zero cost option. Doesn't belong on a 1986 Turbo but you can do as you please.

I think it's nicer on a grey car than some colours. It's very "period", and I think it's fine on the early turbos even if it wouldn't have been standard unless it was a turbo S.

You can always take it off if you don't like it? [:)]

Fitted as an option to 88 Turbo S cars, my car had it from new and i replaced it as someone had removed it, silver on black, personally i like it.
An oem decal is circa £80 but there are some good replicas about.

Just like white indicators.....

Doesn't belong on a 1986 Turbo
as comment above

Top marks for reverting to standard

Now, have you got a big alarm key in the rear quarter behind the drivers door handle...[8|][8|][8|]

It was standard. Deletion was an option.

I've fitted one to my '86 951 which I know is out of place for the real geeks, but it's very period and I like it. Some people hate it though!

Like most Porsche graphics it's a bit of a marmite thing really! I say do it, it's only a decal and can come off.

And if you like it , I've got a Genuine Porsche (Black) turbo wing decal still boxed lying in my garage. Left over from a previous restoration a few years ago, would sell if anybody's interested?
