Turbo S

Gents, recently when looking for a late production Cayenne GTS, I came across a late 09 Turbo S being sold at Sutton Coldfield I spoke with a really helpful Ben Plows there and due to working in the midlands I shot over that evening. Ben kindly stayed back to give me a test drive, he and Mark the finance Manager then stayed on to talk figures on my Cayman S against the Cayenne well past closing time. The next day the sales manager agreed a better price on my Cayman due to the forecourt stock of Caymans finding owners the weekend before. A few days later I did the trade and bar a few minor cosmetic issues which have been quickly resolved the experience has rated as one of the best in my Porsche buying history. During this time I struggled to find photos and only limited real living with a Turbo S info (some kindly supplied on this Register). Just a few weeks into driving the Turbo S I'm finding it needs some understanding unlike my 05 Cayenne S which was literally jump in and drive. First off the equipment, comfort and quality which after just passing on my Range Rover Sport is three levels above in the Cayenne Leipzig product. Style well the first Cayenne never won any beauty shows but as I've said before from the drivers seat the outlook is pure Porsche plus you can see over the hedges and around bends ahead the sports seats front and back have completely spoilt me and I'm struggling to recall a more comfortable chair when touring along or throwing it around sharp bends, it could be the alcantara seat centres as there is no slip that my RRS smooth leather suffered in corners. Roadholding initially set the comfort level which really smooths the poor condition roads we have but this weekend have been playing with the normal and sport settings and its a different beast. Driving, well beast is the best name for it just reving the engine it sounds so angry and to hit the sport button - well hello horizon yes there is a small lag before the turbos make themselves known but actually lag is not a problem as the torque from the V8 has already accelerated the vehicle then a jet fighters afterburner cuts in and your straight on the brakes protecting your licence. I've only scratched the surface which makes this such an awesome 4x4 and I'm looking forward to some more bonding with the beast as ownership progresses. Economy well 20.8 mpg is the average thus far with variable driving but as mentioned I'm still to discover more of what makes the Turbo s ticks. I also struggled to find some decent photos so have attached a photo taken today after cleaning. Any fellow owners please feel free to add your experiences good or bad.
