Turbo/S2 Driving light Ducts

Someone in a previous post recently mentioned ducts available to replace the driving/foglights on the Turbo or S2. On my turbo I've moved the side lights to the indicator units, and replaced the driving lights with small mesh grilles. Pleased with them initially, but the more I look at them now, the more DIY they look. Does anyone know who sells something professionally made - ideally I'd like to use them as part of a brake cooling set up.
Cheers,
Richard

Quite a few 944's came with brake cooling ducts as standard though not fitted in place of the driving lamps there are some on e bay right now, search 944 turbo.

I thought they were standard fit mate. Mine has them. They direct air onto the deflector plates that bolt onto the struts and onto the brake discs. Talking of which probably a stupid question but has anyone got a set of deflectors in good nick or are everyone elses rotten as a peach?

Pretty sure they were not standard fit Rob, lots had them though, as regards the ally deflector plates they are very reasnable at Porsche around a tenner if i recall last year i replaced one on the 220.
Tial fitted and working great but still tinkering as the thing holds massive amounts of boost if you let it, tweaking it around 18 psi

I have never ventured over 15 psi yet. Are you running 18 psi OK with standard setup? I.e. HG etc. If you have access to a regulated air supply you can set it up quite easily. Don't want to hijak the OPs post sorry mate. Drop me a line or a PM if you want me to go through it with you.

IIRC the brake cooling ducts were only standard fit on the Turbos for a short period of time (from the intro of the 250 model up to 1989 I think) Certainly my 1990 doesn't have them.

An independent removed mine, when replacing the front disks! Promax pointed this out to me and put some more on. They were very cheap, as I recall.

If you have the later 968 style lower arms (with an extra mounting tab), the 968 brake ducting kit is very good - much better I think at directing air into the centre of the disks. IRO £40-50 all in

Olli's top work did prompt me to look around the web and I found this http://carbonmods.co.uk/Departments/carbon-fiber-kits.aspx which has some interesting moulding tutorials but so far not had time to do anymore than look, fancied having a go at making some bits.

As far as I can ascertain these ducts were automatically fitted if the M030 option was specified. They are easy to retrofit as the parts are still available
