Has anyone had a crack at repairing an S2 or turbo rear valance? The side fixings on the one I have for my S2 are non existent. I presume it should have been a captive nut or stud in there. Anyone who knows my car will know there is no point in putting anything new and pretty on there - I will save that for a decent car - but nevertheless, I would like to, um, as far as possible keep it as it should be! So... just wondering what effective bodgery of this part people have used... I am thinking of some suitably strong gunge to either drill and tap, or fit a captive nut - but what gunge will be effective in this material? Araldite is the classic, but suspect modern liquid metals might be better, but it is in a semi-flexible material...

Turbo/S2 rear Splitter/Valance Repair?

Are your fixings completely gone, i.e. just holes on the inside of the valance ? I put bolts in the original holes and filled with resin. One tip though make sure the bolt is in the correct position for when its offered up to the car, if its not when you put a nut on it and tighten it the valance the other side of the nut will distort.

There are several Construction type mastic sealants available in cartridges of either rubber/bitumen or polyurethane single pack material which dry to a hard but slightly flexible mass available in black & suitable for sealing metal within other materials such as metal balustrades protruding through ashalted balconies.
