Turbo Service costs

I am tentatively looking to move from my C4 to a MY2003 TT so I thought I would ask those who have had a 996 and then moved on to the turbo, if there was a marked difference on the cost of servicing and the like.

If I do move, I think I'm right in saying I won't have the RMS to worry about but is there anything I should be checking for that (other than the obvious generic issues when buying a car) indicates that that moment is now to walk away?

It's done 29K full OPC UK car with really nice spec PSE, PCM, Bose etc. It has had 3 owners which seems a lot for a three year old car and something I can't recall seing before, Arctic silver over painted seal grey alloys???

TIA
