Hilux

New member
Morning all,

Can anyone tellme where I can get the turbo sill skirts from. I`m missing the front offside wing one.

Do Porsche OPC have them or does anyone have a spare?

Cheers

Paul

If you mean the black plastic trims under the front wings/sills then be prepared for a shock...[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]They are available from the OPC, fronts are £86+VAT each and rears are slightly less than that.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Hold on one cotton picking minute Fen, are you seriously saying OPC charge that for the tiny little front wing one and its MORE than the main (long) one?

Sheesh.................

Exactly. The front one has a metal supporting bracket as part of the piece which I guess is the reason, though Porsche parts prices are not necessarily affected by reason, especially when they are plastic.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]The reason I know the prices is I sold mine as a complete set and usually I charge half the new pre-VAT price for bits like that that don't wear, so I had to get the price. In the end the agreed price was £170 for my complete set. A lot of money for some bits of black ABS plastic with stone chips, but less than half the new price all the same.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

The metal mounting bracket is a seperate part - I replaced the S2's rusty ones with new. Not cheap, IIRC.

Cheers,

Jim.

I got a drivers side under-wing one for £10 from PH sportscars. He's usually got some 2nd hand ones in although alot of the under-wing ones have the part that turns up through 90 degrees and bolted into the wheel arch lining missing. I think that is a weak point and snaps off. The one I got had a crack running through it but was still intact.

bolted into the wheel arch lining

????

Mine has two metal brackets with holes that hang down from the sill.wing bottom ie: vertical. I assumed that the sill section simply screwed or bolted onto these.

On the underside the trim bolts to lugs welded on the bottom of the car in about three places with bolts. However the front of the trim turns through 90 degrees up against the wheel arch liner where there is a single plastic rivet or bolt. I think this is just to stop the front lip of the trim from bending down. However on most of the trims I saw this part that bent up at righ angles was missing so it seems to crack off quite easily. The one I found had a crack on it but was still quite secure.
