Turbo sticker and stone guards

Hi all

Replaced one sill on my porsche and going to do other when back (currently offshore with work), so will update my previous how to post on doing sills yourself when I am back onshore. Anyway was originally only going to paint from stone guard line down, but to do the front wing properly have wondered above this level so prob spray both sides now anyway. However I like the turbo sticker on the wing so want to replace that. I will also need the stone guard stickers. I have seen the wing one both on ebay and couple of sites on interent (highgatehouse?). Also have seen stone guard stickers on ebay and at porscheshop (expensive!). Anybody replaced these before and whats the opinions on quality against price etc. Cheers for any opinions, much appreciated!

Hi

Can't help with the "Turbo" script, although for what it's worth I like them, but the stoneguards are inexpensive from an OPC as I bought some recently.

<Pauses to check paperwork....>

Yep, £8.69 + VAT each before the discount, part no 944 559 321 00 for the LHS, 944 559 322 00 for the RHS. Come in a nice cardboard box too, so they don't get damaged.

Can't recommend Highgatehouse strongly enough.

I'd suggest two options with the stone guards, either Berlyn services or an OPC (Exeter would be my recommendation). In terms of price I think Berlyn are the cheapest and knowing him will be of excellent quality, but genuine aren't that expensive either.

<Edited to add> Lol, James beat me to it, I blame the heat for my slow typing skills [;)]

I see no reason not to get them from Rick at Highgate House, he is after all a 944 Register stalwart, unlike many e-bay sellers. [&:]

Got mine from Bert - £52 inc VAT and carriage for complete set.

Be aware if you are thinking of the Turbo wing sticker, that the aftermarket ones I've seen don't have the same graduated tint pattern as the originals which I'd guess are hugely expensive if still available. Not a great fan personally - a bit too 80's for my liking.

As above. The original decal on my car was similar to a B&W newspaper 'dot-for-dot' picture and I havent seen a third party reproduction that is accurate.

Ricks version is copied direct from an original and looks pretty good imho, if you like that sort of thing (which I do !) Which reminds me I need to get myself another one.

If its of any use - I have a full set of the stone gard sticker things.. Still in Porsche box, with arch pieces also.. Happy to let you have them for a fee [;)] - they were £100 from Porsche.

The original Porsche stonguards are the best bar non, made by 3M beleive me i have been there. i have the Turbo script on my car and i would not change it.
Again original is best as i have seen the ebay ones, but i have not seen the Highgate House ones ?
Original stonegaurds circa 90 baht fro OPC

guess i will go for the highgatehouse one as want as close to original as possible. AntB, what do you want for these, cheers

Remember when peeling off old decals of this type to use the hairdryer trick, the last thing you want to do is peel off paintwork - and yes I've seen it loads of times, couple of minutes to warm and supple it up and you should have no problems slowly peeling them off. For my money Ive always found the Dealer ones inexpensive - and of course as factory.

they are brand new in Porsche Box.. How would half price sound delivered?

AntB, unless you put them on fleabay as a buy it now, I will have to look into this when I get back onshore cause apart from paypal I cant get money to you from here (no royal mail or anything, lol). If that suits let us know. Shall we call it forty squid and you got a deal? cheers

p.s these stone gaurds are clear, yeah?
