Just a quickie, ive a 993 C4 that has 17" technology wheels that i actually like but wud prefer 18" either turbo or technology wheels. Am i able to fit these larger wheels without having to use spacers or anything??? tks ps my car isnt a c2s or c4s widebody

hi,yes u can fit 18" wheels straight on,just make sure u get wheels with the right offset.its worth noting if your car is a 95 or before coup car,you will need to fit a transverce support bracket across the steering rack mounting points, its available along with the longer bolts also needed from your official porsche center.

no prob, sounds like u will need the transvere strut, its not hard to fit, there is different part number for left and right hand drive cars.its explained in detail in the TSB bullitins that porsche issue regarding fitment of 18" wheels to 993s,your'll find porsche TSB's if u do an internet search, and your probly find more details about it all on the various forums, cheers

David I have Turbo Technology 18" wheels, refurbed, on my 95 car with new Pirellis. I am now looking for 17" Cup 2 wheels for it so these may be up for sale soon.

Apologies for hi jacking the thread.

Hi Andrew
Mine aren't hollow spokes.

Hi Allan, that wud be great. Pls let me know when. Also why r u switching to 17"?????

TBH the 18's handle fine not too harsh, minimal bump-steer, I just want to get the car back to original, amber lenses, original radio etc, but not as far 16"s - that's the flaw in my logic!

tks again. Does everyone that buys 18" wheels fit these do u think?

dont really know.i would think it quite a good idea to fit it and i would if i was fitting 18" wheels to an early 993, its not hard to fit,but its up to you at the end of the day.
But porsche do recommend it to be fitted, due to the extra strain of fitting 18" wheels to a car they only designed with a max of 17" wheels in mind,a thing that porsche only rectifed on later 993s to allow 18" wheels to be fitted without the need to retro fit the transverse brace.
Its worth also noting that Porsche dont reccomend the fitting of 18" wheels to any 993 targas, whatever the model year

hope i not put u off getting the 18" on,but thought it better to make u aware of the fitting of larger wheels to earlier 993s issue,so u can make an informed decision on whats best to do .but would say it really is an easy job to fit the transverse brace and 18" wheels do look good on 993s
,cheers :)

18s certainly look good on a 993, but I would keep my 17s as well in case I got a fit of originality at some point.

yes that fine they will go straight on,et 65 on the back is correct, and et 50 seven and a half inch on the front, you can also have et 52 eight inch on the front, just something to bear in mind if your looking at any other wheels as well, cheers

right, so if i buy these wheels what are tyres going to cost me for all corners, refurb them and fit whatever else i have to fit for them to hadle as it shud??
