Turbo Throttle Position Sensor

Has anyone ever repaired one of these? Is there an alternative part or supplier? Mine is playing up (or at least the microswitch anyway). I mean cmon it's only a microswitch. Does anyone have a spare or second hand one they would be willing to part with? Every part of me does not want to pay the prices that I have been seeing at the usual suspects for one of these.

They are very rare NLA at Porsche
they are available in the states for £140 plus shipping, but double check the part number I purchased one but it was completely reversed in operation and had to return it
Im going to buy a new one shortly as a spare as I think they will become hard to find in the future

I recall reading somewhere on here that there was a TPS from another marque that was the same...might have been Volvo....I think it may be in the 'common parts ' thread or something like that?

The guy on the Arnworx site opened his up and cleaned the oil out, think it worked afterwards.

Cheers guys. I can see one for £121.80 on bestpartstore.co.uk Is that the one you are looking at Ken? Still seems like a rip off to me lol.

Thanks mate I have already had it open. The wiper works just fine. It is the microswitch that is shot. Not a lot that can be done to that.

Try one of the Volvo ones from a scrappy perhaps ?

I've heard of the microswitch being replaced with one from a mouse button before...
Do you know that's not a bad idea and what could be lost in trying? Certainly worth looking into. I was planning on looking on RS later to see if a suitable switch could be sourced.

Thanks for your input guys. I have been kindly offered a suitable replacement. I will however set about repairing the broken one. A suitable microswitch looks to be around £1.50. I will keep you up to speed with how I get on.
