Turbo Tip(s)

I always liked the twin tail-pipes on my C2s and exhaust tips on mine were starting to look a bit worse for wear (even after vigourous polishing).

So I priced up some new OE ones, found out they were £219+VAT Each [] and then decided to see what else was available.

Finally decided on these "DesignTek" ones....

They are polished stainless steel, cost half price of OE ones, one bolt to fit and I think look great !

I kept the old ones in case this invalidates the warrenty (which it probably does [])

What do you think....worthy of a Porsche or better off in Max-Power (honest opinions always welcome) [:D][:D]

Certainly an improvement. That colour will discolour pretty quick though. Most guys get them in black because of this.

TechArt have always been my favs but way over-priced, just like the rest of their stuff:

Of course it's a well known fact that the two exits will cause a slight rise in exhaust back pressure which in turn will cause a rise in the exhaust gas temperature which in turn will melt the turbos which will no longer be covered by the warranty...............[:D]
I quite like them Doug - will fool a few into thinking you have fitted a nice loud aftermarket exhaust too[;)] Until you start it up, that is......[:(][:D]

Looks great IMHO, would like to change mine but none availabel yet like that for the gen 2 car I think

Cheers !

I wouldn't have thought it's long until someone does them for the Gen II. Aren't the appertures even wider in the newer car hence much more scope for something a bit different ??

Like this for example (it's also a twin turbo apparently) [:D][:D]

I quite like the black ones.... chrome is a bit bling but hopefully will colour up quickly [;)]
I've been chavi'ing mine up for an article in the magazine... monthly columns don't write themselves- apparently [&:]

They do black but seems not for the Turbo...

Hopefully, with regular polishing they will stay looking like this as I quite like the bling look at the back-end....thinking of blacked out windows and M3 wing-mirrors next [:D]

mmmm. they do look good in black..[&:][8D]
No chrome on the car really which is why I think I prefer the black...

Looks good Doug !

Certainly a more beefier look to the rear end, which is what they needed to start with.

Black ceramic is the way to go, I have tried powder coat but could cope with the heat. Black chrome also looks good but can also go off colour with time.

Thanks !!

I think so too but was a bit worried as this is first time I have put anything non standard (or non manufacturer) on any of my cars.

Is just a bit of fun really as I can easily put the standard ones back on (and no great expense involved). Normally, I would stay well away from "stick-on" bits as in general I follow the more-is-less approach. Even when I was aged 20, my XR3i managed to avoid the temptations of Halfords [:D]

Nice one [;)]

With regular Autosol, the stainless ones are still looking the biz also.

Seems a good quality product.

Makes yours look like a C2S now also [:D]

Mine stay shiny for one drive only after cleaning - if that.[:(] Do you put anything else on after the Autosol, Doug?

"Elbow grease" [:D]

Same here actually, they soot up after each drive (not surprising given amount of burnt fuel that goes through them) but wipe with a damp cloth and back to shiny stainless steel again. I give them a quick going over with Autosol or T-Cut once every couple of weeks. Lots of other more worthwhile things I should be doing I know [8|]
