My friend doesn't use an EFR turbo, but a classic KKK turbo modified with modern Borg Warner wheels. I have not heard anything good about EFR turbos, they are very expensive and seem to be quite unreliable.

I was told they were quite good as you said Nick, but just wanted to check with those with more experience of turbo mods than me.

I was told they are BW's response to the Garrett product and the dual scroll technology was really effective. Cost I am told is on a par with Garrett, but there will be variances according to what crossover pipe or waste-gate or fabricator is used.

I can check the cost with the suppliers and compare them, so don't focus on cost so much as quality and performance

Wonder why your friend used BW turbines TTM, and also why a KKK housing??

Thank you both for your comments

Garret with twin scroll set up. Prob same cost wise a gtx with tial v bands. Twin scroll housings are cheaper smaller pipe slightly Easyer to work with. But your need 2 wastegates

My friend used this because that's what was recommended by his tuner/turbo supplier at the time he built his 3.0L engine, as cutting and welding the exhaust was not an option, like was the case for many of us.

As for a twin scroll set up on a 944T, I see way too much work involved for the possible gains provided, and that is if you even get the sizing of each cross pipe correct.
The main advantage I can see in a twin scroll set up is its ability to compensate more or less the lag caused by using a huge turbo, but the few engines that will be able to use efficiently such a turbo may feature a closed deck, use larger headstuds and maybe some iron sleeves.
