Two TOP 993RS Wheelmen...

OK just got back from a real Porschefest, Oulton and Bedford today and had the privilege of sitting with two fine gentlemen for many laps.

Yesterday Johhny " Sideways" Probert took me for a remarkable ride round Oulton Park in his standard 993RS Lightweight, local man on his own track. It was a pleasure to behold his artistry round the twisting loops, bends, blind exits and tight chicanes. His footwork, dancing round the pedals would make Lionel Blair envieous with the sure control of the wheel, masterly aggressive planting the Leichtbau where he wanted it, taking control of the car, a master at work. Thanks J.

Today at Bedford Paul Walker gave me the second dose of RS heaven, in his N-GT Clubbie. Different track altogether, forging his way through the traffic, taking the car in a very sure footed way, communicating and in touch, dirver and car as one. The clubbie behaved faultlessly I'm sure as the day it left the factory again a totally out of the box standard car. Great testimony to this fine marque.

Thanks Guys......

Oh behave Des.....[;)]

Good to see you mate, glad you enjoyed the laps... (and it wasn't too loud for you [:(] )
Unfortunately couldn't get to Oulton, so today, despite being a second best day, was the first run out on track of '07.......as always the car was truly amazing and took it all completely in it's stride....wouldn't swap it for any other car, period [:)]

JohnP, must do few t/days this year..in formation lapping (natch) and compare notes on our cars.

p.s. Des, did that Exige actually disappear in a cloud of smoke? [:D]

Never seen anything like it before, poor chap was obviously watching his mirrors as you were descending done the main straight circa 230K/PH a menacing sight, he surrendered in a massive cloud of brake smoke.......

Des, I have only ever seen that once before, curiosly a rubystone 64RS.....came past my old CS at Goodwood on the straight before Woodcote......I was starting to brake and was amazed at the speed he could carry into the turn..........before it launched a long way into the kitty litter.....I certainly learnt a lot!
