Tyre Choice Gen2 4S

Ok so I know this can be a rather divisive topic but I'm about to take my winter tyres off and I need two new rear tyres (305/30'19).

Had Pirelli PZeros all around and they honestly seemed fine to me but a lot of people rave about the Michelin PS2s and Super Sports...the SSs don't seem to be N rated and I'd rather stick to the official Porsche homologation wrt warranty etc... the PZeros on the front still have plenty of life.

Any views on whether to stick with the Pirellis or to put Michelins on the back?

Thanks!

Well you're stuck with P Zeros on the back too, then - and they will also need to be the same 'N' rating as the fronts.

If you're changing make, you'll need to change all 4 - same make, same 'N' rating. [8|]

Clive.

Good point, don't know why I was thinking that I could put different ones on the back...the illusion of choice just had me all confused!

I thought it was just matching axles rather than all 4.. [&:]
I understand it from what the OPC would say after all a sale is a sale [;)]

No that's just McLaren.

You can have slicks at one end and knobblies at the other. It evens up an inherent handling imbalance! :ROFLMAO:

The owners manual says "Only tyres of the same make and specification (N number) may be fitted" and the warranty doc says, in the "what is not covered" bit, "Your vehicle had previously been repaired, maintained or serviced in a way other than in accordance with the Manufacturer's standards, as defined in the Owner's manual". As tyres are not covered by the warranty I'm not quite sure what "bits" would be excluded if you fit mixed/non-N rated tyres. I guess they just wouldn't give you the warranty in the first place? But we've been down this path before........... [8|]

If you don't have warranty then you can fit what ever you fancy as long as they are road legal. I still wouldn't mix brands though.

Still have warranty so defo N-rated...will stick with the p-zeros...when they're all worn down maybe I'll get something else...
