Tyre choice

Hi Folks, I have managed to lay my hands on a lovely set of RS alloys, unfortunatly the current tyres are knackered! they are 265/35/18 and 225/40/18 P Zero.
It looks like I could easily fit 285s, what do you think?
Also I think a rim protector would be a good idea so possibly P Zero rosso or Conti sport
any ideas?
