Tyre dilemma

Currently need new tyres on both the passenger side tyres since both are getting low. When i bought the car 18m ago the seller (an indy) replaced the rear driver tyre with a michelin but not N1. So currently 3 michelin N1s and a correctly sized and rated Michelin tyre rear driver.

The tread on the non michelin is obviously deep in comparison to the others and the drivers front tyre is good. Having read previous threads it seems that a mortal sin has been committed with the non matching tyre but my dilemma comes in that it has good tread. So my question for you all is, should i be rplacing all four tyres (potential wallet haemorrhage) or should i replace the passenger tyres only or do something else. All opinions welcome and if someone knows where to get good (i mean well priced) michelin N1 tyres, i live in Notts, I would appreciate the info. In addition who should you get to fit them, can anyone do it or should i go back to OPC (definite money haemorrhage)??

Cheers in advance

Definitely get a quote from Costco if you are a member, might be worth becoming a member; Costco only deal with Michelins. Tyre fitting at OPC will not gain you any stamps or re-sell value what-so-ever get them fitted where you buy them...

Kwik fit regularly offer 25% off 4 Michelin tyres - unfortunately their latest offer just ended, but Contis or Bridgestones are on offer at present.

Michelin last the longest.

I wouldn't mix old and new tyres on the same axle personally, not unless there was minimal (ie <2mm) wear on the old tyre.

Are places like costco and kwik fit able to fit tyres ok?? Do you need to get your wheels aligned somewhere else or are they more than capable?

I use www.blackcircles.co.uk who have always given great prices. They supply the tyres to an approved fitter of theirs in your area who you take the car to. You can see their fitters on the web site and check them out before hand.

Always replace both fronts or both rears.

Never mix tyres on an axle.

Shop around and you can get 4 N rated tyres fitted for £500. (17")

I have put on 4 new tyres last month. I paid approx £490 from Kwik fit. I ended up with Conti's as they were on special offer at the time. No problems to report.
