Tyre life expectancy

Just wondered what sort of mileage everyone else is getting out of a set of tyres? I run Pirelli P-Zero Rossos and the pair on the front look well knackered after about 8000 miles though a recent track day helped finish them off. Looking back at the service history of the car (I've only had this car since Nov '05), the previous owner seemed to be replacing tyres every 12-16k. Is this about right?

I'd have put the fronts down to 18-20, and rears down to 12-14k, but it all really depens on how you drive them I guess.

I have the same and always have had P-Zero's on all my 993's and thats what I got roughly.

I used Bridgestone once and got 6k out a back set, so never again, far to soft a compund!!

Yip it depends on how you drive and how you have the car set up. I've done about 8K miles on a set of Bridgestone SO2's and probably will get about another 2K out of the rears at most. The ain't cheap but IMHO they give the best grip in both the wet and dry. But I'm open to suggestion. I have had a lot of good reports on TOYO Proxis which are cheaper and have run Pirelli'P zero's but I wasn't as impressed with the wet weather grip. What brands have others tried. Has anybody run Michelin Pilot's ?
