New member
Hi, this is my first question as a relatively new member. I have a MY04 996 C2 fitted with 285/30/18 N2 Continental tyres, I will need to replace the rear tyres shortly, does anyone know which makes of tyre were fitted to this model at the factory.
Best regards
Jim

Welcome Jim!

The list of Porsche approved N Rated tyres for the 996 are:

Bridgestone Potenza S-02A N3
Bridgestone Potenza S-02A N4
Continental SportContact 2 N2
Dunlop SP Sport 9090 NO
Michelin Pilot Sport N1
Michelin Pilot Sport TL N1
Michelin Pilot Sport N2
Pirelli PZero Rosso N3
Pirelli PZero Rosso N4
Pirelli PZero Asimmetrico N3

Jim,
Don't know where you are but if in the west London area give Bracknell Tyre & Battery a call. They are the best on price and take care of your wheels, best to call and they will have for next day fitting. Don't be put off by the grotty premises and be prepared to get there early or wait in the queue. No connection with the company, just a customer.

Couldn't agree more on the Bracknell recommendation - avoid Saturday would be my other advice.

Pirellis offer the highest wet weather grip, but are poor for mileage and tramline badly when part worn.

Michelin the best all round option - not far behind the Pirellis on grip, good wear rate and consistent in performance.

Hi Jim. 10,500 miles and counting on my rear Micheline Pilot Sport N1's (2003 996 C2 manual) - and still about 1.5 - 2 mm off the limiter! Awesome grip too!

What can I say, thanks everyone. I am located in Manchester but I am sure I can look around for a good price now that I have a number of tyre options to go for.
Best regards to all
Jim

Try Jim Jeffreys in Stockton Heath - normally pretty competitive (well Kwik fit and other places buy from him !!)
