Tyre noise on new wheels

Just switched some copy 17" turbo twist alloys for proper cup 2 alloys and noticed more road noise than i remember on the old wheels. I used the tyres (pirelli p zeros) from the old wheels, had everything balanced up etc so bit miffed. This normal???? It's not unbearable just for me noticeable

Your "new" Porsche wheels will be much lighter than the copy wheels David, so maybe the noise damping effect is reduced?

Fair enough I'm happy that's the case just as long as it's no problem!!!!

Are you sure not something else making the noise (I'm reminded of my very slightly lose wheel nuts that I thought was a wheel bearing). I take Clyde's point that there will be less damping - but enough to make more noise?

I had loan turbo twists on my car for a while (with some strange tyres) and they made rather more noise than my MichPS2s on Cup2s
